Bhutan Tour Packages From Mumbai to Bring a Whiff of Fresh Air For Mumbaikars

What can be said about the pristine, picture perfect Kingdom of Bhutan that hasn’t already been said. Known also as the ‘happiest place in the world’, this tiny Kingdom has always been regarded as the last bastion of human civilization, guarded feverishly by its inhabitants from the outside world. In fact it was only in 1974 that any kind of tourist activities were allowed in Bhutan.

Today Bhutan is a wonderfully scenic tourist destination shrouded in mystery, myth and legendary, breath taking beauty. Although Bhutan is a perfect tourist destination for the young and the old alike, there are actually not that many takers of exotic vacations in the country, except from the bigger metropolitan centres such as Mumbai.

People in Mumbai are always looking for more and more exotic and different travel experiences and are quite open to the idea of utilizing the services of well planned Bhutan tour packages from Mumbai.

There is so much to see and do in Bhutan that it will be almost impossible for a tourist to be able to plan a complete travel itinerary by him/herself, and therefore it is imperative that a Bhutan tour package from Mumbai will be a great way to see this beautiful, majestic country and get great experiences that one can cherish for a lifetime.

Things to do in Bhutan

Almost all Bhutan Packages from Mumbai start from the capital Thimpu, which is a scenic 1 hr. drive from Paro, the nearest Airport. The Thimpu valley is quite beautiful, serene and almost a fairy tale destination of calm and peace. Most people then visit Trashichhoedzong, which is a beautiful monastery that has the government headquarters and the Throne Room of the King of Bhutan.

The National Library is also worth a visit that houses a great collection of Buddhist texts and manuscripts. In Thimpu, the Arts and Crafts School is also very famous for its traditional thangkha paintings and must be visited to the how the intricate work is done with great patience and persistence. The Memorial Chorten that is built in the memory of Bhutan’s Third King has a unique collection of artefacts, paintings and statues.

At the end of the valley is Drukgyel Dzong from where one of the tallest peaks of the world, the peak of Jomolhari situated at an altitude of 7316 metres offers a mesmerizing view.

Paro itself is a great centre of culture and offers stunning historical artefacts preserved carefully at the National Museum. The walking trail of Rinpung Dzong is also a great way to see this beautiful hill town. One of the highlights of the tour to Para can be the excursion to the famous monastery called Taktsang that takes almost 5 hours for a round trip.

Things to consider when in Bhutan

Bhutan is unlike most other tourist places and is quite conservative in a lot of its policies for its citizen as well as some for the tourists, who are expected to respect the culture and practices of the Kingdom. Smoking is severely restricted in Bhutan and there are hefty fines for violating the rule.

Generally, conservative dressing is preferred although there is no law or a dressing code in practise.  Most people in Bhutan speak English or Hindi and language is not a big problem, especially in the urban areas. Shoes are expected to be removed in most places of worship and it is generally prohibited to take pictures of the deities.

All in all the Bhutan packages from Mumbai will show you a different, unseen world that you could have only imagined or seen in pictures and movies, not in reality.
